Early Action

Early Action is a non-binding application option that allows you to receive an admission decision earlier while keeping your college choices open. Applying Early Action also ensures early consideration for Transylvania's merit scholarships and gives you additional time to maximize your financial aid opportunities, attend admitted student events, and confidently plan your college decision.

Early Decision

Early Decision (ED) is designed for students who have determined that Transylvania University is their first-choice institution and are prepared to make a commitment to enroll if admitted.

Students applying through Early Decision receive priority review and may be eligible for enhanced merit scholarship consideration available exclusively to Early Decision applicants.

By selecting the Early Decision application plan, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

First-Choice Institution

I affirm that Transylvania University is my first-choice college and that I am applying under the Early Decision plan because I intend to enroll if admitted.

Commitment to Enroll

If admitted through Early Decision, I agree to:

Enroll at Transylvania University.
Submit my enrollment deposit by January 4.
Withdraw all active applications submitted to other colleges and universities.
Not submit new applications to other institutions after receiving my Early Decision admission decision.

Early Decision Scholarship Enhancement

Students admitted through the Early Decision program may receive enhanced merit scholarship consideration through designated Early Decision scholarship awards.

These enhanced awards are available only to students who fulfill the Early Decision commitment outlined in this agreement.

Financial Aid and Scholarship Information

Students admitted through Early Decision will receive a financial aid offer that may include institutional merit scholarships, federal aid, state aid, grants, and other forms of assistance for which they qualify.

Financial aid offers are expected to be released beginning December 14, provided all required financial aid documents have been received and processed.

Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA and promptly submit any requested documentation to avoid delays in receiving their financial aid offer.

Admission through Early Decision does not guarantee eligibility for any specific scholarship, grant, or financial aid program.

Verification and FAFSA Requirements

Students selected for federal verification or other financial aid review processes must submit all requested documentation before a final aid package can be completed.

Failure to provide requested documentation may delay financial aid packaging but does not affect admission status.

Failure to Complete the Early Decision Commitment

Students admitted through Early Decision are expected to submit their enrollment deposit and confirm their enrollment by January 4.

Students who do not complete the Early Decision commitment by January 4 will remain admitted to Transylvania University; however:

Any Early Decision-specific scholarship enhancement will be removed.
The student will no longer be considered an Early Decision applicant.
The student's application will be converted to Regular Decision status.
No new application will be required.

The student's original admission offer will remain valid, provided all conditions of admission continue to be met.

Conditions of Admission

Admission to Transylvania University is contingent upon:

Successful completion of all senior-year coursework.
Graduation from high school or completion of an equivalent credential.
Continued academic performance consistent with the student's application.
Conduct that reflects the values and expectations of the University.

Transylvania University reserves the right to revoke or modify an offer of admission if there is a significant decline in academic performance, misrepresentation of information, or disciplinary action that would have affected the admission decision.

Appeals

Students admitted through Early Decision who receive an enhanced Early Decision scholarship award are not eligible to appeal for additional institutional merit scholarship consideration.
