      The Campus Visit Experience

We are delighted that you plan to visit Transy! Pictures can show you our beautiful campus, but they only tell part of the story. Visiting is the only way to get a true feel for the spirit of our campus.

The daily campus visit experience includes:

      • 90-minute walking tour of academic and residential campus (including dorm room) with a student admissions ambassador,
      • 30-minute admissions session with an admissions counselor, and
      • personalized pre-packaged Transylvania bag featuring brochures, a special visit t-shirt and lanyard

Optional may also be requested as part of your visit experience based on individual availability and may be in person or virtual.

We request a minimum of 48 hours notice of your intended date to visit to prepare your schedule.

      Register for a Campus Visit

      ✔️ Step 1:

      Select Your Date & Time

When you begin to schedule your visit, you will be presented with a calendar where you can select a date and time for your visit. All currently available visits are labelled in green.

Please note that your arrival time may vary from the tour time you select based on the custom visit options you choose and the availability of our admissions and student staff.

All visit times are Eastern Time. Visits are first-come, first-served basis and no exceptions outside of these tour times can be made.

      ✔️ Step 2:

Select your preferences and submit the registration.

Next, you will need to submit the official campus visit registration form. The registration will ask demographic information, your preferences for your visit experience, as well as for a list of those who will attend with you.

Once your registration is submitted, we will begin crafting your personalized visit experience! Once your visit is confirmed, you will receive an email itinerary that will detail your arrival time and full schedule.

      ✔️ Step 3:

      Prepare for Your Arrival

You will receive the following information prior to your visit via email and text. We recommend reading this information the day prior to your arrival so you can be fully prepared to have a wonderful visit experience on our campus!

During this time, we are taking extra precautions to keep you and your family, as well as our faculty, staff and students safe. Safety is paramount. This means that the campus visit will feature several different expectations than it has previously.

      Campus Masking

All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, are required to mask in common and public spaces inside buildings in response to the current public health situation and COVID-19 critical incidence rate in Fayette County. Fully vaccinated individuals may remove their mask in a personal office or meeting space if permitted by the individual.

Please make sure you and your guests bring a mask or face covering with you for your tour experience. All student tour guides and admissions staff have been vaccinated in an effort to protect you and your family and will utilize face masks (or transparent face shields, if needed, to maintain an accessible visit) for the duration of the visit experience.

      COVID-19 Visitor Expectations

      Requirements for the visit include:

      • A symptom assessment of visitors upon arrival
      • Required wearing of a mask inside University buildings and offices if within six feet of distance for all individuals
      • Adherence to six feet social distancing
      • Maintaining proper hand hygiene by washing hands or utilizing hand sanitizer provided on campus and refraining from touching surfaces while in academic and residential buildings

Your visit will begin at your personalized visitor parking spot located in front of the Glenn Welcome Center. Visitor parking on campus is available at Old Morrison horseshoe parking located on our campus map. Designated visitor parking spaces will be marked with your name.

We recommend utilizing Google Map directions to 206 W. Third Street, the entrance to the parking circle.

Please note, all visits are Eastern Time. If you are traveling from a different timezone, make sure you plan to arrive for your scheduled visit based on the Eastern Time Zone.

When you arrive, please do not leave your vehicle. Call (859) 233-8242, the Office of Admissions. We will ask you a few COVID-19 symptom-assessment questions, then instruct you on where to meet to begin your visit.

No need to arrive early! We only ask visitors to arrive approximately 5 minutes prior to the arrival time. The Glenn Welcome Center restrooms are open and available for your use once we invite you to join us outside the vehicle.

We highly recommend you check the weather forecast in Lexington in advance of your visit and wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing. You may need to bring items such as a raincoat or umbrella, which we are unable to hand out during the visit.

        Cancellation/Rescheduling

We request a minimum of 24 hours notice if you plan to cancel your intended visit.

Each individual schedule is handcrafted by our staff and personalized for you and your family. Because of COVID-19, we must work with several on-campus partners such as housekeeping, to maintain cleanliness and prepare for each individual visit.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled visit OR you or a guest has begun to display COVID-19 related symptoms, please contact the office and notify our staff of your change of plans.
